Let us Stand Together for Gillespie County and offer Support Recovery Efforts After the Devastating Crabapple Fire. In the heart of Texas, our community stands resilient in the face of devastation brought on by the horrific Crabapple Fire that swept across Gillespie County. The massive grassfire began in Lower Crabapple Road. It spread across over 9,737 acres. Ranchers and livestock owners were significantly impacted.
While the City of Fredericksburg and Texas A&M Forest Service work to contain the blaze, now 65% under control, the aftermath calls for a collective effort to rebuild and restore. This is a call to action for each of us to support those whose lives and livelihoods have been affected.
Our community has always been our greatest asset, and in times like these, the strength of our unity becomes paramount. The Gillespie County Fairgrounds at 530 Fair Drive in Fredericksburg are a designated collection point. Generous souls can contribute much-needed hay, feed, and fencing supplies for the impacted cattle, sheep, and goats that form the backbone of our agricultural heritage.
Lochte Feed, Behrends Feed & Fertilizer, and Allied Ag Services Inc. are helping to facilitate contributions.
To all the first responders and volunteers on the ground, our deepest gratitude for your bravery and relentless commitment to safeguarding our community. For the rest of us, now is the time to rally, support, extend a helping hand, and rebuild together.
